In 2004 our leader said this country will reclaim its promise, and out of this long political darkness, a brighter day will come. He promised equal rights for women and freedom for women’s reproductive rights. The women’s caucus representing the most successful rights movement of our lifetime supported him. What did we get in return – not one woman in his cabinet – only free birth control pills and abortions on demand. He launched his career on a bright, shining lie and hasn’t stopped lieing. He is presiding over an electorate that he has polarized and at the same time has deliberately divided our country. It looks like he is following down the same dark alley that his father did. It is sad that someone who has the opportunity for greatness is taking the low road and not the high road.
