Zakaria Fareed of CNN had an outstanding program yesterday about where the best places are to live. He was comparing America to other parts of the world which was very interesting. He compared the Scandinavian countries’ health care system and how it works for the good of all of the people. He also compared the freedom they have for capitalism and the freedom in the amount of regulations to pursue a business. We have so many regulations in this country that it is choking every thing we try to do (EPA/FDA). After the program, I thought, I wonder what kind of immigration system do they have – do they allow people in their country who are not legal? Do they let the people who are not legal to use their educational system, medical facilities, and social parachutes. Do they allow children to be born and are automatically citizens of those countries? Do the people who are not legal get to stay as long as they want. Yes, Zakaria, that sounds like the system we had initially; but, due to America allowing all cultures to come into our country and who do not and will not adapt to our original culture of America as it was founded – that is what happens – things change and not always for the good of the country. So it would be interesting to make all of the comparison, as I have listed.
