As we have all heard the statement – we can pick our friends but not our relatives.  We all have heard about that crazy uncle in the closet.  But, it all goes back to manners or etiquette.   We do  not need any more laws and sanctions but more beliefs.  Because rules or manners,  if well written and observed,  do not repress they liberate.  Children who are raised with limits grow up respecting the rights of others.  Bad manners are  a sign of weakness and are not a symbol of strength.  When people use manners it marks that person as someone who treats others with respect  and in return receives respect.  Due to the liberation of the “60’s,”  it seems no one needs to take responsibility for his/her actions  anymore.  If you listen to the news media we were all abused as kids or driven out of our mind with TV or rock music.
