British  (BP) deepwater Horizon drillling rig spill admits to crimes and will pay $4B over five years to the U.S. government, 11 deaths, millions of barrels of oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico, and lying to  Congress.  This spill caused our country to lose millions of jobs now and in the future after the U.S. government shutdown and withdrew any permits in the U.S. because of this spill.  The only drilling that is taking place is on private land since the government has no jurisdiction.  So, BP should also pay the people of America  for present and future loss of jobs and income all over the U.S. -since they caused this disaster.  The government has spent so much on green energy trying to replace oil which is plentiful in this country.  I still think something smells awfully fishy about the spill and the fact that we cannot drill on federal land.  It just does not add up.  It also doesn’t make sense that other countries are drilling in the Gulf of Mexico – but, we can’t!
