The news media and the White House keep talking about a number called 47 percent – it is one of the numbers between 1 and 50 to begin with. So, why is this number so important? If you are talking about the number of people unemployed and on welfare (food stamps) which happens to be 47 percent then you are in the right ballpark. Now, that number represents a word that accountants refer to as takers (which makes sense to categorize a group of people under the 47% column). Since we have settled that – we go to the next question – who caused this 47%? Isn’t the Government (executive order) responsible for advertising for free food stamps and ginning up the numbers for the unemployed. The last word the accountant uses in his graph is the makers (the people who make the money and pay taxes to the government) so they can pay these 47%’ers. Why is this so complicated?
