One of the definitions of  TENURE is the right of holding a position.  I do  not like tenure because when people have tenure it makes them lazy.  The competitiveness feature is lost.  We are now seeing the symptoms of this in our schools, unions,  and colleges.  Competition is what makes our country so great.
