The definition of a Democrat is as elastic as the definition of a virtuous man. Throughout history the definition given by Socrates, Cicero, Confucius, Buddha, and St. Thomas Aquinas have varied. Still other definitions have been given by Mohammed and Brigham Young. My question is: What are the essentials that they must agree on and what are the things that they may differ on and still be a good Democrat? I think that train has left everyone at the station!
